The majority of referrals come from the RCMP. Crisis Advocates may be asked to respond to a residence, a crime scene, hospital, etc. When the victim is being supported by the crisis advocate, the RCMP member can attend to completing the investigation or attend to other emergencies.

 

The Advocates assist the RCMP to ensure the victim receives support and information at various stages of the investigation and court process. The Innisfail RCMP recognizes the valuable contribution of the Innisfail and District Victim Services Society. The extensive specialized training, skills, talents and abilities that Advocates bring are integral to the success of community policing and crime prevention programming.
